YAAAY!! I got First Place in the New York State SkillsUSA Photography Competition. I'm heading to Nationals later on in July I believe. That's hosted in Kansas City, Missouri. If I place there I get a 10,000 scholarship to The Center for Digital Imaging Arts (CDIA:BU) which is just about half the price, which means I'd probobly go there.

ALSOOOO This new JPG Magazine (www.jpgmag.com for those of you who don't know) theme is PERFECT!!! CREATURES!! I entered my Gator pic in! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE vote for me! I think I have a real chance at getting published this time! I would LOVE LOVE LOVE that! I really want to get published before I go off to college.

Ack... car troubles...

So I was driving to school and my car just didn't feel right for some reason.. I called my dad and told him what I was feeling and he said to pull into a parking lot he'd be there.. So I stopped at the Hannaford parking lot and chilled there for a bit, there were a few birds in the parking lot and I snapped a few shots of them, and then my dad arrived, after taking a look, I had NO transmission fluid... So we went into the Advanced Auto shop that was so conveniently infront of us and got some, put it in, and it seemed to drive fine, so I drove the car to my dads house and spent the day helping him with work (got out of school )

After we got home I was supposed to go down to a local photography studio to have them print up some photos for my competition next week, so I headed there, I got to a stop light, sat there for a bit, it turned green I pushed the gas and... didn't move... Crap... So I'm revving and revving the engine and not going anywhere, I'm moving just a few inches at a time, finally I get through the intersection and pull into the parking lot there, call my dad and chill. I decided to look under my car after sitting in the parking lot for a few minutes waiting for my dad and.... theres the quart of transmission fluid sitting in a puddle under my car... hmm.. that doesn't seem good...

So my dad gets there and we're looking under the hood and find a disconnected hose, and after about an hour we manage to fiddle it back together and tighten it, and put another quart of transmission fluid in and I manage to get back to his house where we do more inspecting, find several bolts and screws loose to the point of just sitting in the sockets (damn mechanics...) and thats about it, So HOPEFULLY my car is just fine now... PHEW! We'll see how she drives when I head home from dads tomorrow...
